Known for their small stature, narrow snout, and bushy black-tipped tails, coyotes are a member of the canine family found in prairies, deserts, forests, and even some mountains. Coyotes can also be found in rural human-populated areas. Coyotes only grow to be about 50 lbs - the size of a medium dog. Coyotes are very territorial and although they can be solitary, tend to travel in pairs or packs. Mostly active at dusk and dawn, coyotes are omnivores that will attack and eat whatever they can get their paws on.
