The burrowing owl can be found across the United States in dry, open areas such as grasslands, agricultural lands, and deserts, even some on golf courses. Known for its habit of living in burrows underground as opposed to in trees, the burrowing owl is one of many protected species in North America. As a state-endangered species in Colorado, the burrowing owl’s habitat is constantly at risk from predators and human development. Named for the endangered flower found in their habitat, Parish and Daisy have proven to not only be adorable, but also resilient species.
