Meet Manuel, the Squirrel Monkey! Known for their intelligence, squirrel monkeys possess a curiosity that drives their exploration. Manuel's name is a tribute to the Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica, which represents just one of the forests and jungles of Central and South America where squirrel monkeys are native. Unfortunately, ongoing habitat loss threatens their populations, emphasizing the need for conservation efforts. Since the 1970s, their population has significantly decreased from roughly 200,000 to less than 5,000. Preserving squirrel monkeys protects their existence and upholds the delicate balance of life in our diverse ecosystems.
