What are the requirements to apply?

- Vision corrected to 20/20
- Valid passport, without restriction, to travel in and out of the U.S.
- Valid driver's license
- Able to pass standardized pilot aptitude testing
- Ability to pass rigorous pilot training and evaluation program
- Ability and willingness to work a variety of schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability and desire to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks
- High school diploma or equivalent; BS degree preferred
- Minimum age of 19 at program start
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Able to obtain ATP financing and tuition
- Ability to relocate domestically, potentially internationally, for flight experience during the training program

What is the application process?

Is preference given to Frontier employees and their relatives?
Yes, hiring preference is given to the employees of Frontier Airlines, their family members, and employees of Frontier’s business partners. Please denote any existing relationship with Frontier during the application process.
Where is my primary flight training?
Training can be completed at any one of over 70 ATP Flight Schools nationwide, meaning that you’ll be able to pick the location that’s most convenient for you.
What if I already have a rating and some hours?
If you’ve already started flight training, great. You can still be considered for the program while attending your current flight school with approval from Frontier. Please note your flight time and ratings during the application process.
How long is the training?
Training, coupled with flight experience building, lasts approximately 24 months for most candidates. Upon successful completion of flight training, the accumulation of the minimum number of flight hours, and final review, you’ll be scheduled for First Officer training at Frontier Airlines, which lasts approximately 2 months (paid).
Do I have to relocate?
You can complete training at over 70 ATP flight schools nationwide so you can choose the location that's most convenient for you. Upon graduation from the program and obtaining the requisite licenses and experience, you’ll start training as a Frontier Airlines First Officer and you’ll ultimately be assigned to one of our pilot bases upon completion of the training.
Do you provide housing?
We do not provide housing during training but you will receive a small stipend for the first 24 months of the program.
How much is tuition?
Tuition is set by ATP, but averages $90,000 for most students. Candidates will have access to competitive lending products. Loans typically provide additional money for living expenses. *Qualifications and approval are required prior to starting the program.
Do you provide tuition assistance?
We do not provide tuition assistance at this time, however, candidates will receive a stipend of $500 until you reach 750 flight hours, then receive a monthly stipend of $1,000 for the remainder of the 24 months to help offset costs.
Are there scholarships?
External scholarships may be available for those who qualify.
Am I guaranteed a job with Frontier upon completion?
Successful graduates of ATP Flight School who meet our minimum qualifications are guaranteed placement in the next available Frontier First Officer training class upon graduation.
How will I time-build after completion of all my ratings to be eligible for RATP/ATP?
We will assist students in finding opportunities to build flight time, but ultimately it is up to each student to find the opportunity that best meets their needs.
Can I use my GI bill?
Yes, qualified individuals can use the GI Bill to offset some of the costs of flight training. You can learn more about GI Bill benefits here.

Do you offer any benefits?
During flight training, program participants will be able to travel Space Available on Frontier Airlines for a nominal booking fee. In addition, program participants will receive a monthly stipend of $500 until you reach 750 flight hours, then receive a monthly payment of $1,000 for the remainder of the 24 months to help offset costs. As we build a bridge to an associate degree in aviation to couple with the training, costs associated with the academic credits to complete this will be subsidized.
Am I able to join other cadet programs while enrolled in Frontier Airlines Cadet Program?
As this program provides a direct pathway into a Frontier Airlines First Officer position, you cannot participate in any other cadet programs at the same time.
What is my commitment to Frontier after completion of my flight training?
After completion of training, successful participants begin employment as Frontier Airlines First Officer. Cadets will be asked to sign an agreement with Frontier prior to starting in the program, which will spell out rights and responsibilities of both Frontier and our cadets.
Am I an employee during the program?
No. Employment with Frontier Airlines does not begin until successful completion of the training and enrollment into the Frontier Airlines First Officer training program.
Am I paid during the program?
You are not paid as an employee during the program, but program participants receive a monthly stipend of $500 until you reach 750 flight hours, then receive a monthly stipend of $1,000 for the remainder of the 24 months to help offset costs. Successful program participants will begin paid employment as Frontier Airlines pilot in our First Officer training program.
