The Wilderness Society

The Wilderness Society is the leading American conservation organization working to protect our nation's public lands – the 635 million acres collectively owned by the American people. From well-known icons to hidden gems, these lands provide us all with clean air and water; abundant wildlife; havens for recreation, learning and solitude; and a foundation for a healthy planet.

Since its founding in 1935, The Wilderness Society has led the effort to preserve our treasured wild lands, from rich hardwood forests in the East, stunning deserts in the Southwest and snowcapped peaks in the Rockies to old-growth forests in the Pacific Northwest and tundra in Alaska. My Wilderness

Frontier Airlines and The Wilderness Society are celebrating America's wild places through my wilderness, an interactive public awareness campaign.

From across the country, individuals and families – including celebrities like Betty White and Dave Matthews – will be asked to share their favorite stories of experiences in their own wilderness – from hiking in a national park, fishing on a favorite river, camping with friends or simply throwing a ball with their daughter in a neighborhood park. With my wilderness, people can participate in contests to visit wild locales, watch videos featuring wild places of the month, get outdoors tips and learn more about the places they love.

Anyone who is inspired by America's wild places belongs in my wilderness. Visit the my wilderness campaign at www.wilderness.org/mywilderness.
