Seating Options


Have a seat. You always get advance seating assignments when you book on FlyFrontier.com, and you can also choose from three levels of seating to suit your travel needs. Read below for info about STRETCH, SELECT and STANDARD seating choices.

STRETCH Seating
STRETCH seating is available in the front rows and exit rows of our Airbus and Embraer 190 aircraft. Our STRETCH seats provide five to seven additional inches of legroom — that's a minimum of 36 inches of comfy seat pitch in which to relax and enjoy your Frontier flying experience. STRETCH seating is limited and based upon availability. STRETCH seating is an even better value because you also receive priority boarding and are among the first to board in "Zone 1" of our boarding process. An upgrade to STRETCH seating varies in price based on the type of Fare Option you purchase. Please see pricing chart below.

SELECT Seating
The rows just behind STRETCH seating and in front of the exit rows are SELECT seating, which features 30 to 31 inches of seat pitch. SELECT seating offers the opportunity to sit nearer to the front of the plane, and you’ll receive priority boarding in “Zone 2.” An upgrade to SELECT seating varies in price based on the type of Fare Option you purchase. If you choose not to assign a SELECT seat in advance, you can be assigned to any remaining SELECT seats at no additional fee when your flight opens for check-in 24 hours before the scheduled departure.

STANDARD Seating
STANDARD seating runs from behind the exit rows to the back of the plane and offers 30 to 31 inches of seat pitch. Any non-reclining seats in front of the exit rows are also considered STANDARD seating. Advanced assignment of STANDARD seating requires no additional fee on our Economy fares sold at FlyFrontier.com.

*Based on availability; fees for an upgrade to STRETCH or SELECT seating are charged per flight and connecting itineraries will incur fees for each flight where an upgrade is purchased.

Any fees paid for a STRETCH or SELECT seating upgrade are non-refundable if a ticket is later canceled or changed. STRETCH fees will be refunded per the terms of our Customer Service Commitment if you purchase a STRETCH upgrade and STRETCH seating is not available on your flight due to an unexpected event in Frontier's control, such as an aircraft substitution.

Except in certain markets discussed below, access to STRETCH and SELECT seating varies based on the type of fare you purchase:

    Classic Plus fares — You’re eligible to upgrade to STRETCH or SELECT seating at the time of purchase, if available. You may also request an upgrade to STRETCH seating at check-in, if available.

    Classic fares — If available, you can upgrade to SELECT seating for no additional fee at the time of purchase. You may purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available at the time you purchase your ticket on FlyFrontier.com. You can purchase an upgrade in the My Bookings section at FlyFrontier.com or by calling Frontier Reservations at 800-432-1FLY (1359). You may also purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating when you check in online within 24 hours of departure, or when you check in at the airport kiosk, ticket counter or gate on the day of departure, if available. An upgrade to STRETCH seating may also be purchased onboard the aircraft if seats remain available, but the Classic pricing discount will not apply.

    Economy fares — You may purchase an upgrade to STRETCH or SELECT seating at the time you purchase your ticket on FlyFrontier.com. If you’ve already purchased your ticket, you can purchase upgrades in either the My Bookings section on FlyFrontier.com or by calling Frontier Reservations at 800-432-1FLY (1359). You may purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating when you check in online within 24 hours of departure, or when you check in at the airport kiosk, ticket counter or gate on the day of departure, if available. Within the 24-hour check-in period, you can choose SELECT seating at no additional fee, when available. You can also purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating onboard the aircraft if seats are available. Economy Fares include free STANDARD seating assignments at the time of purchase.

    Basic fares — You may purchase an upgrade to STRETCH or SELECT seating at any time after you purchase your ticket, if available. You can purchase an upgrade in the My Bookings section at FlyFrontier.com or by calling Frontier Reservations at 800-432-1FLY (1359). You may also purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating when you check in online within 24 hours of departure, or when you check in at the airport kiosk, ticket counter or gate on the day of departure, if available. Basic fares do not offer free advance seat assignment. Within the 24-hour check-in period, you can choose from remaining SELECT and STANDARD seating at no additional fee.

EarlyReturns® Summit level members can reserve a free STRETCH or SELECT seat, when available, on any of our Fare Options at the time of purchase. Summit members may also request an upgrade to STRETCH or SELECT seating at check-in for a flight, if available.

EarlyReturns® Ascent level members can request a free upgrade to STRETCH seating at check-in when traveling on any of our Fare Options, if available. If you are an Ascent member who prefers to reserve a STRETCH seat rather than waiting to see if one is still available at the time of check-in, you may purchase STRETCH seating based on the costs and access of the type of Fare Option you purchased. You are eligible to upgrade to SELECT seating for no additional fee at the time of purchase, if available.

Market Exceptions — STRETCH seating is not available for purchase in advance of the day of travel on any Fare Option on international flights to/from Baltimore (BWI), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Cincinnati (CVG), Cleveland (CLE), Pittsburgh (PIT), Philadelphia (PHL), Rockford (RFD), and St. Louis (STL). In these markets, not all aircraft have STRETCH seating. STRETCH seats may be purchased at check-in, when available, for the applicable upgrade fee as discussed above, based on the type of Fare Option purchased. EarlyReturns® Summit level members can reserve STRETCH seating rows at the time of ticket purchase, if available, but may be moved to a non-STRETCH seat if the aircraft operating the flight on the day of travel does not have STRETCH seating. EarlyReturns® Ascent level members may also request a free upgrade to STRETCH seating in these markets at the time of check-in, if available.
